I cherish the mix of community and space in my found-place and seek the gentle paths through inventive but faded industry or rugged grandeur as frequently as possible.
Derbyshire
Soft stone and strong river at our place in the county. The River Derwent gains its strength from severn tributaries and the headwaters in the Dark Peak but here, in the White Peak it becomes a powerful flow useful for early industrialisation.Here, in the Derwent Valley UNESCO World Heritage Site are the graceful remnants of profit. Lead, iron, limestone and textiles have all been worked or formed but now, like some long-retired artisan, is gentle in form and mellowed in nature.
